Scout Sunday

On Sunday February 12, 2012, FUMC is celebrating Scout Sunday.  We have arranged for specific responsibilities and recognition for all Scouts on this day.  If you would like for you Scout to participate, please let , Dennis Cruise or Jay Estes know and also which service we can expect our Scout to participate.  Up to 16 Scouts are needed at each service and more may be utilized.  Have your Scout check in with Dennis or Jay near the Usher room so their service time can be recorded, and assignments made.

Here are the bullets:

  • Adult Scout leaders are needed!  ~ 8 per service.  Please check in with me or Jay for assignments.  It is very important for the Scout Leaders to instruct and demonstrate servant-hood, respect and reverence while conducting their duties for the service in which they are participating.
  • Scouts and adult Scout leaders, please be early by at least 15 minutes before the service.  The service times are 8:30 AM, 9:45 AM and 11:05 AM.
  • Check in near Usher Room to record service and receive assignments.  Class A uniforms only, please.
  • Participants completing the Fall God & Me and God & Family P.R.A.Y. programs will be recognized at the 11:05 AMservice.  Robbie Pettit is in charge of the scouts for this.  Have your Scout notify me or Jay at check in if they are a part of this special recognition so we can direct them to Robbie who will instruct them where to go.  After recognition during the service, they will be dismissed to participate in the rest of the service with their families.
  • Have fun and be always helpful.

We will send additional information as it develops.

Please be sure to forward this to other Scouts and Scout Leaders who attend FUMC and want to participate.  Hopefully they can collect information for their troops and summarize and report back by Friday afternoon in order to get an idea of the numbers of Scouts we might expect at each service..

A Scout is Trustworthy; a Scout is Loyal; a Scout is Brave and Courageous; Obedient and Respectful of Authority; and, a Scout is Reverent.
